Frequently Asked Questions

What is Teardrop Braid used for?

Teardrop Braid is used to cover tacks, staples, and raw edges on upholstered furniture, giving a clean, professional finish to chairs, sofas, ottomans, and headboards.

How is upholstery braid and gimp attached?

Braid and gimp is typically attached using upholstery gimp pins, fabric glue, or a hot melt glue gun. Apply to edges after completing the main fabric work for a neat finish.

Can Teardrop Braid follow curved furniture profiles?

Yes — braid and gimp is flexible enough to follow both straight and curved edges without puckering. For tight curves, a hot melt glue gun gives the most control.

Is Teardrop Braid suitable for contract and trade upholstery?

Many of our braids and gimps are suitable for trade and contract use. Check the product listing for any fire retardant specification where contract compliance is required.

Why choose Upholstery Warehouse for upholstery braid and gimp?
